ROOTS : 鎚起銅器
燕の鎚起銅器のルーツとなった玉川堂は明治6年の日本が初めて参加したウィーン万国博覧会に出品し、その後、世界コロンビア博覧会、日英博覧会等で銀賞受賞。一枚の銅板からつくられる芸術的な形状と、他にはない色の出し方は世界的にも高い評価を受けています。現在は皇室の御慶事に玉川堂製品の献上が習わしとなっています。
ROOTS : TSUIKI DOUKI ~Hammerd Copper~
The Gyokusendo Company Limited, the origin of the Tsuiki Douki industry in Tsubame, sent its products to the Weltausstellung of 1873 in Vienna, the first World Exhibition in which Japan participated. Since then, it has been awarded silver medals in multiple exhibitions including The Chicago World's Fair of 1893, and The Japan-British Exhibition of 1910. Their artistic designs, handcrafted in copper and incorporating distinctive colours have won worldwide acclaim. It has become customary to present Gyokusendo products to the Japanese Imperial Family to celebrate important events.
